  • Yes, whenever you like. The PowerPod has built in protection against overcharging, and the charger stops on its own once it reaches 100%, so there is nothing to watch and no need to unplug it on time.

  • No. The PowerPod is a smart battery with its own battery management system (BMS) looking after its cells, so charging it fully and riding it every day will not harm its health. It was designed and built from scratch to be safe, reliable and hassle free, so you can charge it with confidence.

  • If a PowerPod sits unused for a long stretch without being fully charged, the percentage it shows can drift away from the charge it actually holds, usually reading higher than it should. One full charge to 100% lets it recalibrate and brings the reading back in line.

After a long break, charge it to 100% before you ride again. Riding regularly and charging fully when needed keeps the reading accurate.

    1. Lay it down gently on a stable, dry floor, lying flat. It works standing up or lying down, but on the supplied charger it has to charge lying flat.
    2. Connect the charger to the connector on the bottom of the pod first, then plug the charger into the socket.
    3. Follow the charge in the GridXenergy app, and charge to 100% before you first use it.

Never drop, throw or slam the pod down.

  • About 2 hours from 0 to 80% with fast charging. The charger stops by itself once the pod reaches 100%.

  • The display on top of the pod, beside the handle, shows its state of charge.

For more, get the GridXenergy app: search "Gridxenergy" on the Google Play Store or the App Store, and log in with the mobile number registered with your PowerPod. It shows your charge and your ride analytics, and it is where you manage your warranty and support.

    • PowerPod battery: 3 years from your invoice date or 1000 kWh of energy used, whichever comes first, with at least 70% battery health (SoH) guaranteed.
    • Extended cover, optional: 2 more years against manufacturing defects, 5 in total, up to 1500 kWh, with the same 70% SoH guarantee.
    • X-Connector, fast charger and vehicle dock: 1 year from your invoice date.

There are no parts inside the pack you can service yourself, and opening it ends your cover.

    • Open, drill, crush or modify it, or its X-Connector, dock, wiring or firmware.
    • Charge or ride it when it is wet, swollen, cracked, leaking or unusually hot.
    • Leave it in direct sunlight, near fire, or anywhere above 60 °C.
    • Store or charge it near the only exit of a building.
    • Leave it fully drained for a long time.

Always lift it by its handle, use only GridX approved chargers and adapters, and have it installed, serviced or repaired only by a GridX Authorised Dealer.

  • Stop using it straight away if you notice:

    • Swelling, bulging or any change in its shape
    • Smoke, or anything venting from it
    • Liquid leaking from it
    • Fire, sparks or arcing at the connector
    • An unusual chemical or solvent smell
    • Abnormal heat, or heat when it has not been used
    • Cracks, or a connector that looks burnt or discoloured
    • Repeated faults, or cutting out again and again

Do not try to repair, open, cool, bag or bin it. Call GridX or WhatsApp GridX, or speak to your GridX Authorised Dealer, and raise a claim in the GridXenergy app so the pod's own data goes with it. Reporting early costs you nothing.

  • Every PowerPod is manufactured with the utmost attention to detail, and with safety built in at every level: ultra-safe NMC cells in a rugged aluminium body, a battery management system watching over them, and protection against over voltage, under voltage and short circuits. A fire is highly unlikely. But in that rare event:

    1. Move away to a safe distance. Do not touch it or move it.
    2. Call the fire service and tell them: "A lithium-ion battery is on fire."
    3. Do not try to put the fire out yourself. Leave it to the fire service.
    4. Stay out of the smoke, which can be toxic. If you are indoors, get out, and only open windows if it is safe to.
    5. Do not go back to it afterwards. A lithium-ion battery can reignite hours later, so wait for the fire service to say it is safe.
